We launched the FanXchange Ticket Centre on theScore.com today! Buying tickets to see the next big game just got a whole lot easier.

FanXchange and theScore announced their newest offering to simplify the hunt for the best tickets. The new alliance enables users to quickly search for seats contextually via theScore.com to buy their sports tickets in real-time, safely and securely. After three years of working with FanXchange, SPOKE Agency continues to lead the strategy, creative and technology development for the ongoing partnership. We spent months on this thing!

The FanXchange ticket search engine features an interactive seating chart which facilitates the ticket selection process by showing the user exactly where their seat is positioned from the stage.

Now you can find your seats faster with the new dynamic seating feature with interactive maps and real seat view. To help you find the perfect seats and make the right purchase, take a virtual look from your seats with real view and see exactly where they are in the interactive map of the venue.

In a recent shift for the secondary ticket marketplace, fans look to FanXchange.com as an alternative to guarantee a legitimate and safe transaction. They currently maintain the country’s largest ticket inventory, averaging 5.5 million available seats. The link with theScore confirms what sports fans in-the-know have long awaited as the next step in the site’s increasingly valuable branded utilities. Their mobile phone application, ScoreMobile, is consistently rated as the top sports app in both downloads and quality of engagement. Daily, tens of thousands use the website to read exclusive articles, check scores and research stats on their favourite players.

The launch phase is supported with an integrated campaign for digital, TV and editorial advertising.

A dedicated advocate for traditions, Shanghai Tang has announced their annual Polo Cup’s return to Mongolia from August 27 to August 29, where Genghis Khan’s warriors once played the regal sport.

Polo has been long lost to Mongolian culture but has recently been revived to breed the next generation of world-class polo players. Mongol players play up their heritage by attiring in traditional costumes worn by their mighty cavalry ancestors.

With a strong sense of heritage and one of the world’s most breathtaking and well-preserved landscape, this polo match seems promising as an equestrian’s dream come true.

Here are some of the event photos from Shanghai Tang Polo Cup’s last visit in Mongolia in 2006.

What is bike polo (BP) you ask? Well, it’s pretty darn simple; Polo with a modified mallet, usually in a hockey rink and hockey nets on a bike. A variety of characters hit the concrete to take a wack at the ball and pick serious speed. It is a game of skill, having to maintain balance on the bike while keeping an eye on the ball and the opponents net. Chosen rides range from cruiser to high end fixies. I am going to subject myself to BP next week and will probably head out with a single speed for weight, speed and the ability to not kill everyone in the game. BP is fun to watch, can get hairy and brings a freshness to NEWSPORT. That’s what we call “hybrid” or “new” sports hitting our streets. If you can get out and catch a game of Bike Polo, do it.

Great hockey game tonight at the ACC. Despite almost blowing a 2-0 lead, the Leafs were able to defeat the Islanders 3-2. I am constantly fascinated by Toronto Maple Leafs fans (including myself in that category). If only I would have recorded some of the comments from people sitting around me. In sports, generally we see fans jumping on and off the bandwagon season to season, but here in T.O., we are so spell bound that its play to play. The team’s current communication strategy couldn’t be clearer: ‘Spirit is Everything’. Is that to say that winning is nothing and that we should embrace the past? If so, why does MLSE feel that they can increase ticket prices every year, while over 70% of seats sell for under face value on the secondary market (Thanks FanXchange.com for that stat!). Nonetheless, I will remain on the bandwagon. Go Leafs Go.
