Kick-Ass was, well…Ok, I have to be cheesy; Kick- Ass was kick ass! It was a mis-marketed movie that is one part hyper-stylized animated action, one part love story and one part awesome. The script was written to entertain and suspend disbelief for a few hours of quick-witted one-liners, fantastic action sequences and a chance for the underdog to come out shooting. Loved it.
Kick-Ass will be a cult classic.
Oceans is no Planet Earth, but it was worth watching. If you have kids, it’s a must. The colors and vibrancy of the fish are out of this world.
The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights
Watching the White Stripes cross Canada with the goal of playing every province and territory in Canada was very special. Having spent years with difficulties crossing the Canadian border, Jack and Meg not only play each province and territory, but play under-visited towns, touching down in places like St.John’s, Newfoundland and small Inuit towns with populations of around 20,000. Playing in bowling alleys and on small local streets, you get acoustics and performances never to be repeated. There is such a feeling of distance and closeness between Meg and Jack White; a former married couple who play in a band of two. There are three new things I learned about the White Stripes from this doc; Meg is almost certainly a stoner, I will be a White Stripes fan for life and finally, Meg and Jack have an uncanny ability to communicate emotions without even a single glance (causing tears from my eyes to appear). Whether they are tears of happiness, empathy or sadness is the question.
Fun and mildly entertaining. I would say it’s a rental. Matt Dillon is still pretty hot. What the ‘F’ happened to Lawrence Fishburn? Can anyone say, “Hi, My name is Lawrence Fishburn, I’m broke and am going to sell some cred for cash, who’s buyin’?

I finally watched Kick-Ass last night! Why did I wait so long and why did I have to be a cheapskate by watching it at Rainbow?? For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, take my words and watch it at a real theatre!
