Ok, I lied… there’s not much humour in this, but it truly made me smile.

This basin-toilet hybrid is designed by Milan designers Gabriele and Oscar Buratti in collaboration with bathroom brand Roca.

The idea is to reuse the water from the basin to fill the cistern for the toilet, thus the name W+W (Washbasin+WC). Once the basin has been filled with used water, the user has the option of diverting to the mains or to recycle it to the cistern, depending if there’s anything mixed with the water.

Simple and ecofriendly – makes you wonder why this wasn’t how the bathroom unit was installed to begin with.

And its environmental credentials don’t end here. W+W is fitted with Roca’s Singles-Pro tap which limits the water flow to 9 litres per minute, saving 25% compared to other standard single tap faucets on the market. For more benefits of Roca’s Singles-Pro tap click here.
