Great hockey game tonight at the ACC. Despite almost blowing a 2-0 lead, the Leafs were able to defeat the Islanders 3-2. I am constantly fascinated by Toronto Maple Leafs fans (including myself in that category). If only I would have recorded some of the comments from people sitting around me. In sports, generally we see fans jumping on and off the bandwagon season to season, but here in T.O., we are so spell bound that its play to play. The team’s current communication strategy couldn’t be clearer: ‘Spirit is Everything’. Is that to say that winning is nothing and that we should embrace the past? If so, why does MLSE feel that they can increase ticket prices every year, while over 70% of seats sell for under face value on the secondary market (Thanks FanXchange.com for that stat!). Nonetheless, I will remain on the bandwagon. Go Leafs Go.
